Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota scored two goals each as Liverpool beat AFC Bournemouth 4-0 in their Premier League game. The win helped Liverpool extend their lead at the top of the table by five points. Incidentally, this is the biggest lead any team has had after a set of matches this season.
Even without Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool continued their solid run. The Reds have extended their unbeaten streak to eight matches in the Premier League.
All four goals were scored in the second half of this particular Premier League game. Nunez opened the scoring by finishing a well-coordinated attack initiated by Jota. Jota then added to the lead with a low shot, and he scored again nine minutes later. Towards the end of the game, Nunez completed his brace. The forward scored from a delivery by Joe Gomez from the right flank.
This performance made Nunez the first player in the Premier League this season to achieve at least 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. The defeat for Bournemouth in this match, following another loss in the previous game, places them in 12th position in the league with 25 points.
