Rajasthan Royals sign Avesh Khan for IPL 2024

Rajasthan Royals have made a new signing for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. They’ve brought in skilled pacer Avesh Khan from Lucknow Super Giants. In return, talented top-order batter Devdutt Padikkal will join the Lucknow team.

Avesh Khan’s addition to the Royals’ squad in IPL 2024 will make their pace attack stronger. The bowler is known for his ability to swing and move the ball in different directions, especially during the later stages of the game.

Since his debut in the IPL in 2017, he has taken 55 wickets in 47 matches, showing his effectiveness as a bowler. In the 2021 season, he was the second-highest wicket-taker, claiming 24 wickets in 16 matches. In the 2022 season, he emerged as the highest wicket-taker for Lucknow Super Giants with 18 wickets.

Avesh Khan’s cricket journey started in 2014 in the domestic circuit with Madhya Pradesh. He has taken 112 wickets in 92 T20 matches for them, showcasing an economy rate of 8.22. His talent was recognized early on when he represented the Indian Men’s Under-19 team in the U19 Men’s World Cup 2016, where he emerged as India’s top wicket-taker. His exceptional performances earned him a spot in India’s senior team, debuting in both T20Is and ODIs in 2022.

Avesh continued to shine in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season, taking 38 wickets. Additionally, he was part of the team that secured the Gold Medal at the Asian Games earlier this year.
