Meanwhile, Real Madrid stayed at the top of La Liga with a comfortable 2-0 victory over struggling Granada. Brahim Diaz scored first, following up on Jude Bellingham’s shot, and Rodrygo netted the second goal. Granada struggled to create opportunities, failing to get a shot on target under their new coach Alexander Medina.
Girona staged a late comeback, winning 2-1 against Valencia. Valencia took the lead with Hugo Duro’s goal, but substitutes Cristhian Stuani and Yan Couto assisted each other for Stuani to score twice and turn the game around.
Athletic Bilbao stunned Rayo Vallecano with a dominant 4-0 win. Gorka Guruzeta opened the scoring, Inaki Williams’ cross led to an own goal, Inaki Williams scored a third goal, and Nico sealed the victory with a spectacular fourth goal.

Mallorca and Alaves played out a 0-0 draw, with Alaves content with the result despite Mallorca dominating the game. Real Betis, reduced to 10 men after Hector Bellerin’s red card, managed to hold off Almeria, who despite numerous attempts couldn’t find a win.
Sevilla faced a 1-1 draw against Villarreal, continuing their winless streak under coach Diego Alonso. Kike Salas scored for Sevilla, quickly matched by Jose Luis Morales for Villarreal. VAR ruled out Ben Brereton Diaz’s goal, which would have given Villarreal the win.

Osasuna and Real Sociedad ended in a 1-1 draw. Moi Gomez scored early for Osasuna and Umar Sadiq equalized just before halftime with a powerful strike.
Las Palmas began the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Getafe on Friday night.
