New Zealand’s Kane Williamson equalled Virat Kohli’s Test centuries, scoring his 29th ton during the match against Bangladesh at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Williamson achieved the milestone in his 95th Test appearance, which is 26 fewer matches than Kohli. The latter scored 29 Test hundreds in 111 innings while playing against West Indies. Williamson also matched the legendary Don Bradman, who had 29 centuries from 52 Test matches before retiring.

The former New Zealand captain reached his century off 189 deliveries before being dismissed by Taijul Islam for 104 runs. This marked Williamson’s fourth consecutive century in Test cricket, following his centuries against England and Sri Lanka earlier this year.
Since making his debut for New Zealand in 2010, Williamson has emerged as the highest run-scorer in the Test format. He also has the most centuries to his name.

Following Bangladesh’s all-out score of 310, their bowlers made early inroads on Day 2, dismissing the top three New Zealand batters with just 98 runs on the board. Williamson, along with Daryll Mitchell, then steadied the innings, patiently accumulating runs.
However, despite their partnership yielding a solid 66 runs, Mitchell fell for 41 to Taijul Islam. The latter claimed four crucial wickets in the day. After completing his century, Kane Williamson was bowled out by Islam, and New Zealand struggled to add runs, ending Day 2 at 266/8.
