In response, during the chase of 127, opener Shafali Verma attempted a big shot but missed. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues steadied the innings without rush, but played intelligently to see the side through.

The Indian women’s team will host England in a one-off Test match in Mumbai from December 14. They will then play against Australia on December 21 in another Test match. The T20I match and series against England has served as a crucial exposure tour for the women’s side.
