India defeated Australia in their last game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, winning the T20I series 4-1. The match ended in a nail-biting finish, thanks to some superb performances by the Indian players.

Pacer Arshdeep Singh staged a remarkable comeback, defending just nine runs in the final over. His heroics came after a well-fought half-century by Shreyas Iyer and a late attack by Axar Patel. Arshdeep, who initially conceded 37 runs in three overs, turned the tables by conceding only three runs and taking the wicket of Australian skipper Matthew Wade.
Australia seemed well on their way to victory chasing the target of 181. In fact, they were cruising at 128/5 in the 17th over. Yet, India fought back strongly with exceptional bowling, allowing only 38 runs and claiming three crucial wickets in the last five overs. This determined effort restricted Australia to 154/8 in 20 overs, marking the lowest total successfully defended at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in T20I cricket.

India had a promising start with the ball, dismissing key Australian batsmen early, reducing them to 55/3 in the seventh over. Despite Ben McDermott’s commendable 54 runs, the Indian bowlers rallied and triggered a collapse, denying Australia a win.
Mukesh Kumar took 3-32, while Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh, claimed two wickets each. Axar Patel finished with figures of 1-14 in his four overs.
Earlier, India got off to a shaky start batting first but managed a modest total of 160/8, after Shreyas Iyer’s 53 runs, Jitesh Sharma’s 24, and Axar Patel’s quickfire 31.

Despite losing early wickets, Shreyas and Jitesh steadied the ship, followed by another partnership between Shreyas and Axar, taking Team India to a competitive score. Under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy debut, India had already secured the T20I series 3-1 in the previous match in Raipur.
