The International Cricket Council has designated New York, Dallas, and Florida as the three locations for the USA segment of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2024. The matches in the US will take place at Broward County in Florida, Grand Prairie in Dallas, and Eisenhower Park in New York. This marks the first time the tournament will be held in the USA, which will be co-hosted with the West Indies.

The ICC awarded the hosting rights to the USA in 2021. Geoff Allardice, the Chief Executive of the ICC, noted that these venues were selected after a comprehensive evaluation process. “We are thrilled to announce the three USA venues that will host a portion of the largest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ever, featuring 20 teams vying for the trophy. We considered several potential venue options in the country, and we were greatly encouraged by the excitement generated by prospective hosts,” Allardice had said in an ICC press release.

Allardice mentioned that the existing facilities in Florida and Dallas would be expanded to accommodate more spectators, media, and premium hospitality areas through modular stadium solutions. He also expressed optimism about securing the necessary permit from local authorities to build a 34,000-seat modular stadium at Nassau County, New York, by the next month.

Additionally, various other venues across the USA, including George Mason University in Washington, the new home of the MLC team Washington Freedom, have been identified as potential locations for pre-event matches and training.

The ICC’s announcement seems to clear any doubts raised about the USA’s readiness to host the T20 World Cup in 2024. There was some debate about the stadium’s preparedness for an event of such a magnitude.
