France beat Gibraltar 3-0 in Euro qualifiers

France maintained their perfect start to the European Championship qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Gibraltar, thanks to goals from strikers Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe.

Giroud, the all-time leading scorer for France, headed the ball into the net in the Euro qualifiers after only three minutes from a cross by right winger Kingsley Coman.

Shortly after, forward Antoine Griezmann came close to scoring with a low shot before Mbappe converted a penalty in first-half injury time, increasing the lead to 2-0. This goal brought Mbappe’s total tally for the French national team to 39 goals. This leaves him just two goals behind Michel Platini, who is currently fourth on France’s all-time scoring list.

In the second half of the Euro qualifiers, Gibraltar contributed to France’s advantage with an own goal, resulting in a final score of 3-0 in favour of Les Bleus.

In the next Euro qualifiers, France host second-placed team in Group B Greece, at the Stade de France on Monday.
Meanwhile, Greece also secured a win, defeating Ireland 2-1 in their home match.
