Copa America 2024 opening and final game venues announced

The big finale of the 2024 Copa America will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. CONMEBOL revealed the places where the tournament’s first and final matches will occur.

The 48th version of the oldest national team competition globally will kick off on June 20, 2024, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Then, it will wrap up on July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will host the first game on June 20, 2024. It holds over 71,000 people. The ultimate match will happen on July 14, 2024, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. This 65,300-capacity stadium is a popular entertainment spot. It hosts various events like Miami Dolphins games, the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, and the Miami Open tennis tournament.

The Copa America 2024 will have 10 CONMEBOL teams and six teams from Concacaf as guests. This is only the second time the tournament will host 16 teams, with the first being in 2016, also in the United States.

The six Concacaf teams will qualify through the 2023/24 Concacaf Nations League. After the Group Stage, the top teams from League A moved to the Quarterfinals, facing the top four from the Concacaf Nations: Mexico vs. Honduras, United States vs. Trinidad and Tobago, Canada vs Jamaica, and Costa Rica vs Panama.

The quarterfinals will happen from November 16 to 21. Winners of these matches will qualify for the CONMEBOL Copa America 2024. The other two Concacaf teams will be decided after a Play-In among the losing teams from the quarterfinals in March 2024.

The Copa America draw will take place in Miami on December 7.
