The reigning champions of Argentina’s Primera Division River Plate salvaged a thrilling 3-3 draw away from home against Rosario Central, thanks to Pablo Solari’s last-minute goal in stoppage time.

The hosts, Rosario Central, initially took a 2-1 lead with goals from Alejo Veliz on either side of Salomon Rondon’s 50th-minute strike at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito. However, Solari, who had earlier assisted Rondon’s goal, brought River Plate back into the game by levelling the score at 2-2 with a powerful shot into the top right corner.
Despite Rosario Central regaining the lead with Luciano Ferreyra’s composed finish in the 85th minute, Solari’s determination proved relentless. He secured a vital point for River Plate by calmly tapping the ball into the net from close range after Enzo Diaz’s well-placed cross.

River Plate, who secured the league title earlier in the month, now boasts an impressive tally of 58 points from 26 games, holding a comfortable 10-point lead over the second-placed Talleres Cordoba. On the other hand, Rosario Central finds themselves in the seventh position among the 28 teams in the standings, trailing by 17 points with only one match day remaining.

In other Primera Division matches played on the same day, Defensa y Justicia secured a convincing 3-0 win at home against Sarmiento, while Atletico Tucuman emerged victorious with a 1-0 scoreline in their home match against Independiente.
