The hosts, Rosario Central, initially took a 2-1 lead with goals from Alejo Veliz on either side of Salomon Rondon’s 50th-minute strike at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito. However, Solari, who had earlier assisted Rondon’s goal, brought River Plate back into the game by levelling the score at 2-2 with a powerful shot into the top right corner.

Despite Rosario Central regaining the lead with Luciano Ferreyra’s composed finish in the 85th minute, Solari’s determination proved relentless. He secured a vital point for River Plate by calmly tapping the ball into the net from close range after Enzo Diaz’s well-placed cross.
