Nottingham Forest beat Blackpool 3-2 in extra time, while Everton beat Crystal Palace 1-0 to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Forest initially took a 2-0 lead early in the second half. However, League One side Blackpool forced the match into extra time after staging a comeback. Chris Wood scored the winner late in extra time, securing the win for Forest.

Andrew Omobamidele scored 10 minutes into his debut for Nottingham Forest. Then, Danilo added another goal a minute into the second half. Despite their lead, Blackpool fought back, with Albie Morgan scoring a brilliant goal from 25 yards. Then, Kyle Joseph equalised with a header in the 78th minute.
Forest scored the decisive goal in the 110th minute, after Ryan Yates’ low cross was converted by Wood. With this, they set up a fourth-round clash with Bristol City on January 26.
Everton clinched their win against Crystal Palace with a superb free-kick from Andre Gomes. Gomes, making his fifth appearance of the season, broke the deadlock at Goodison Park with a stunning curling effort that hit the inside of Sam Johnstone’s post in the 42nd minute.

Despite Palace’s attempts to level scores, Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia, filling in for Jordan Pickford, made crucial saves from Eberechi Eze and Odsonne Edouard. A late header from Jeff Schlupp for Palace was saved as Everton held on to their lead. Everton will now host Luton Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
