Current FA Cup holders Manchester City began their title defence impressively with a 5-0 victory against Huddersfield Town at Etihad Stadium, earning a spot in the fourth-round draw.
Kevin De Bruyne made a comeback as a substitute in the second half after being sidelined due to injury since the start of the season. Phil Foden scored two fantastic goals, while Julian Alvarez and Oscar Bobb also found the net.

De Bruyne swiftly provided an assist, setting up Jeremy Doku to seal the fifth goal at the 74-minute mark. Doku was also returning after a five-week injury break.
Despite Huddersfield’s determined defence initially keeping Manchester City at bay, Foden opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark. Alvarez swiftly doubled the lead following a slick passing sequence. Shortly after De Bruyne’s introduction, an unfortunate deflection off Ben Jackson led to City’s third goal, courtesy of Bobb’s pass.

Foden struck again with a powerful shot, claiming his second goal at the 65-minute mark. Finally, Doku scored City’s last goal of this FA Cup match after receiving a well-placed cross from De Bruyne.
Manchester City resume Premier League action with a match against Newcastle United scheduled for January 13.
