This weekend, the Premier League will see another round of matches, with Liverpool hosting Brentford at Anfield, an important game according to the Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp. Brentford has been performing well above expectations this season and currently sits in ninth place. Last week, they won 2-1 against Nottingham Forest, so they are likely to feel self-assured going into this match.
Meanwhile, Liverpool has improved after a sluggish start to the campaign and is now in fifth place. In their previous match, they narrowly beat Fulham 1-0 and will be aiming to elevate their performance this weekend.

Liverpool-Brentford match preview
Liverpool are seeking revenge against the team that gave them a tough start to the 2023 season, as they host Brentford at Anfield for their second-to-last home game of the Premier League season. Jurgen Klopp’s team managed to win 1-0 against Fulham in the previous week, while Brentford also had a hard-fought victory against Nottingham Forest, winning 2-1 after coming from behind.
Despite the challenge, Liverpool are currently enjoying a five-game winning streak and are determined to secure a spot in the Champions League. They are currently in fifth place with four games remaining, and while Manchester United lost to Brighton & Hove Albion, they still have a game in hand.
Liverpool has not achieved a six-game winning streak in the Premier League since April 2022, but they are currently on an unbeaten run of seven games since their loss to Manchester City. They have also not been defeated in their last 10 Premier League matches at Anfield.

However, earlier this season, Brentford had defeated Liverpool. Brentford faced a tough challenge against Nottingham Forest, who scored the first goal on the stroke of half-time through Danilo’s second goal in as many matches, after thrashing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge three days earlier.
Brentford has won their last two games in the Premier League and is still hopeful of securing a spot in Europe, as they are currently in ninth place and just four points behind Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. However, Brighton & Hove Albion, who are in eighth place, have three games in hand and could move ahead of Brentford.
Brentford will face tough opponents in their remaining matches, including Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Although they have not been as strong in recent away matches, they are not to be underestimated as they were able to secure a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in November.
