Everton hold Aston Villa goalless at home in Premier League

Aston Villa missed a chance to draw level with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League after a 0-0 away draw against Everton. The result leaves Aston Villa in third place with 43 points, equalling Manchester City and two points behind Liverpool.

Alex Moreno scored for Villa in the 18th minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR check. Everton also had a goal ruled out for offside.

In another match, Manchester United and Tottenham drew 2-2. United led twice through Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford, but Tottenham equalized both times with goals from Richarlison and Roberto Betancur. Tottenham controlled the second half, while United’s attack faded.

Also, Manchester City came from behind to win 3-2 against Newcastle United, securing the second spot in the table. Bernardo Silva scored for City, before Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon put Newcastle ahead. Kevin de Bruyne, coming on as a substitute, equalised and assisted Oscar Bobb for the winning goal.

Chelsea secured a 1-0 win at home against Fulham with a penalty from Cole Palmer in first half injury time. Both teams had chances to score more goals, with Chelsea hitting the woodwork twice.

Burnley were denied a crucial win in their relegation battle after Luton scored a controversial late goal, to draw 1-1. Zeki Amdouni scored for Burnley, but Carlton Morris’s late header for Luton levelled the score.
