Experiencing a bit of “nervous excitement” before his Bundesliga debut, Harry Kane didn’t let it affect his performance. In the inaugural match of the season, Bayern Munich triumphed over Werder Bremen with an impressive 4-0 victory, and Kane played a pivotal role. Having recently finalised his move from Tottenham, the England captain showcased his skills on the field, justifying Bayern’s reported payment of over 100 million euros, or $110 million, for his services.

Kane wasted no time in making an impact. Within three minutes, he skilfully set up Leroy Sane for the opening goal of the game. Later in the 74th minute, he found the back of the net himself, beating Bremen’s goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka with a well-placed low shot. A slight deflection off a Bremen defender’s studs guided the ball inside the left post.
Following his impressive contribution, Kane left the pitch shortly after, seemingly affected by cramps. His substitution was one of the strategic changes made by Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel in the latter stages of the game.

As the match progressed, substitutes Thomas Muller and Alphonso Davies also played vital roles in Bayern’s success. Muller assisted Sane in scoring the third goal in the final moments of the game, while Davies set up Mathys Tel, another substitute, to secure the final goal during injury time.
Bremen managed to exhibit a strong period of play shortly after halftime, but it was not enough to overcome Bayern’s dominance. The turning point of the match was marked by Kane’s intelligent ball forward from his own half, setting up Sane for a counterattack that led to the opening goal. Bremen’s defense struggled to contain the swift movement orchestrated by Kane.
